Broomfield and Prittlewell: Two Anglo-Saxon princely burials compared

In the late 19th century a princely Anglo-Saxon burial was discovered during gravel extraction in Broomfield. It was subsequently excavated but by which time only around a half of the burial was left. In 2003 another princely Anglo-Saxon burial was uncovered in Prittlewell. This time is was undisturbed and was excavated in its entirety. This talk will discuss these two important burials.
